Poker fans are excited about the eagerly-awaited publication of the calendar for the European Poker Tour 2023. This year's calendar for the annual PokerStars event has added new stops in Paris, France, and Cyprus, with other stops slated for Monte Carlo, Barcelona, and Prague. Players who fancy getting involved can either buy into EPT events directly or win themselves a seat by participating in online qualification tournaments.
What is the European Poker Tour?
The European Poker Tour was founded in 2004 by PokerStars, and today it's the richest tour on the continent. The high profile of the event, not to mention the glamorous locations that host each stop, help to attract many of the biggest and best poker players in the world. At the same time, online satellites give regular players a chance of getting involved at a fraction of the cost of a standard buy-in. Win a package and your accommodation will be covered as well as your seat in whatever stop you play for.
For those of you who are wondering where and when the EPT 2023 will be held, the answer is in five of Europe's most attractive destinations from February to December. The full schedule is as follows:
EPT Paris 2023 (15 to 26 February)
The tour gets underway at the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile, in partnership with Le Club Barrière Paris. This first leg begins on Wednesday 14 February and concludes on Sunday 26 February. If you want to buy yourself a seat directly into this event, it will set you back €5,300.
EPT Monte-Carlo 2023 (26 April to 06 May)
The action heads to Monte-Carlo in Monaco for the second leg of the 2023 EPT. Participating poker players will gather at the Monte-Carlo Casino for the start of the tournament on Wednesday 26 April, and all winners will be known when it reaches its conclusion on Saturday 6 May.
EPT Barcelona 2023 (21 August to 03 September)
Spain is the third European country on the EPT 2023 schedule. This third leg of the tour starts at the Casino Barcelona on Monday 21 August and runs until Sunday 3 September.
EPT Cyprus 2023 (11 to 22 October 2023)
The second new stop of the tour is EPT Cyprus. This is the fourth leg of the schedule and the action commences at the Merit Royal Hotel Casino & Spa in Kyrenia on Wednesday 11 October. This leg concludes on Sunday 22 October.
EPT Prague 2023 (06 to 17 December)
The fifth and final stop on the EPT 2023 schedule is Prague. The dates to mark on your calendar for this leg are Wednesday 6 December to Sunday 17 December, and all the poker action will take place at the King's Casino.
Getting involved in the 2023 European Poker Tour is just as straightforward as getting involved in any other live poker tournament. All you have to do is buy yourself a seat, make arrangements for your accommodation and make sure you're in the right place at the right time.
Of course, tournament seats aren't cheap, so unless you have four figures to drop you might prefer to try and win your way to the leg of your choice. To do that, all you need is to make sure that you have an account with the PokerStars online poker site. You can then participate in satellites and qualifiers that could, if you're lucky, lead to you winning both a tournament seat and accommodation for the duration.
