And here's how those players have fared so far:
Félix Auger-Aliassime went into the Men's Singles competition as the No. 10 seed. Sadly, that didn't prevent him from getting beaten in the first round in three straight sets (6-4, 6-4, 6-3) by Italy's Fabio Fognini.
Denis Shapovalov survived his first-round match against Brandon Nakashima in the Men's Singles competition, but it wasn't a walk in the park. The match went to five sets, with Shapovalov eventually winning by 6-4, 7-5, 4-6, 3-6, 6-3.
He then went on to beat Matteo Arnaldi by 6-2, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the second round. Shapovalov now faces No.1 seed Carlos Alcaraz in his third-round match today (Friday 2nd June).
Bianca Andreescu beat Victoria Azarenka by 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 in her first-round Women's Singles competition match. She then beat American Emma Navarro by 6-1, 6-4 in the second round and will face Lesia Tsurenko in the third.
Leylah Annie Fernandez got off to a great start in the Women's Singles competition by beating Poland's Magda Linette by 6-3, 1-6. 6-3 in the first round. Unfortunately, she crashed out in the second round by Denmark's Clara Tauson, who beat her 6-3, 5-7, 6-4.
Fernandez fared a lot better with her partner Taylor Townsend in the first round of the Women's Doubles competition, beating Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Sara Errani by 7-5, 7-6.
Gabriela Dabrowski and Brazil's Luisa Stefani beat Elisabetta Cociaretto and Tatjana Maria in their first-round match in the Women's Doubles competition. The pair now face Dalma Galfi and Katarzyna Piter in the second round.
Rebecca Marino experienced a swift dismissal from the Women's Singles competition, losing in the first round to Diana Schnaider, who beat her by 6-3, 7-5.
In the Women's Doubles, Marino also lost her first match with Lin Zhu as the pair were beaten 7-5, 7-5 by Yifan Xu and Zhaoxuan Yang.
